#MaskUpOC #workyourmask #positivevibes #OCCOVID19😷 Your mask protects others. Their mask protects you.
📢 Helpful Tips:
→ Make sure your mask fits over your nose and below your chin.
→ Wash your mask regularly and refrain from touching your face or the outside of your mask.
→ Wearing a mask does not replace the need for physical distancing (at least 6 ft) and washing your hands regularly.

Shouldn't we be encouraging diners to mask up when wait staff comes to the table, and then remove the mask again to eat and drink? www.courant.com/coronavirus/hc-news-coronavirus-contact-tracing-data-20201112-pk2ehpsxmzdztb3xjok...

#OCCOVID19 #thisispublichealthWilliam “Wil” Duck, a health scientist, worked 90 days straight to help build the system that collects CDC’s data on COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. Wil and his team received data from all 50 states and all tribal regions that they then analyzed to see how COVID-19 was spreading.
CDC quickly found that all states and regions used different methods to collect and format data. They also reported different levels of patient details like age, race, and ethnicity. Staffing shortages and different systems for reporting data created further issues.
“The data landscape was never consistent. One state managed COVID-19 data on four IT systems … Another state still used paper forms,” Wil says.
Eventually, he was able create a new team to help automate the data pipeline and get some well-deserved rest.

Overall, 177 COVID-19 cases were linked to the event, including seven hospitalizations and seven deaths. Avoiding large gatherings, staying 6 feet apart, wearing masks, and staying home when sick can help slow the spread of COVID-19. Read more: bit.ly/MMWR111220. ... See moreSee less
